The very first major snowfall of the season came down last night
and blanketed all mountains in the Sawatch Mountain Range. I took a drive to "the spot" this
morning and found some "fire and ice" scenery - beautiful white snow contrasted
with colorful foliage. It was very beautiful!
In the next few days, I will likely
visit the Cottonwood Pass summit
to photograph the conditions up there. I am going to go on a limb here: I'm
calling it winter at Cottonwood Pass from here on out until next May! ;) -Steve
